Dubovets Island is located on the southern outskirts of Dubna, Rivne region (Ukraine). According to paleogeographic studies, it arose during the late Pleistocene, about 15-12.8 thousand years ago, and later finally formed as a sand dune in the floodplain of the river Ikva.
